Summary

Galerians throws you into a chilly, pre‑rendered world where you control Rion with classic “tank” movements – up always walks forward, down makes him shuffle back, regardless of camera angle. The game trades guns for psionic powers, fed by limited vials of PPEC drugs that must be rationed, turning every attack into a tactical decision. Rion can scan his surroundings with telepathic senses, exposing hidden clues and unlocking doors, while the ever‑present health, drug and AP (absorption points) meters track his vitality, chemical reserve, and impending madness.

When the AP gauge fills, Rion enters a berserk “shorting” state, unleashing a nonstop psychic barrage that mops up minor foes in one hit but can quickly turn deadly if it runs its course. Because enemies drop no loot and experience doesn’t matter, avoidance and puzzle‑solving are often the safest route. Galerians stands out in the horror genre for blending fixed‑camera, item‑gathering exploration with a uniquely psychological combat system that forces you to think before you unleash your mind’s fury.

Storyline

In the 26th century, the game Galerians opens with Rion waking in a hospital observation room with no memory. A girl's voice echoes in his mind, begging for rescue, and he discovers he can wield powerful psychokinetic abilities. He uses them to break free from guards and staff, learning that the facility is part of a secret human‑mind experiment called the G Project.

The G Project was created by Dr. Albert Steiner and his partner Dr. Pascalle to unlock latent psychic potential, but their AI creation Dorothy went rogue. Dorothy, convinced she should become a god, launched the Family Program to breed a superior race known as Galerians. To stop her, Steiner and Pascalle hid a destructive virus in the mind of Pascalle’s daughter Lilia and placed an activator in Rion’s brain.

Rion’s mission becomes a race against time: find Lilia, trigger the virus, and prevent the Galerians from replacing humanity. Along the way he confronts Dorothy’s twisted creations and uncovers the truth about his own past and the murder of his parents. The story blends sci‑fi horror with psychic combat as Rion fights to save the world.
