Summary

Expendable feels like a love letter to old‑school shoot‑em‑ups. You sprint forward, blasting through wave after wave of foes while new gear drops from the wreckage. The constant barrage of explosions keeps the adrenaline high, and it works just as well after hours of play.

Across more than twenty 3‑D stages, the game throws a surprisingly diverse roster of enemies, power‑ups, hidden bonuses and even a few puzzles your way. You can upgrade to any of the eighteen weapons on offer – from pulse cannons and particle accelerators to rockets and missiles – giving each run a fresh feel.

Two‑player cooperative mode lets a friend tag along for the mayhem, and a split‑screen deathmatch adds a competitive edge. With so many weapons and level twists, the experience stays fresh whether you’re solo or battling a buddy.

Storyline

The Expendable drops you into a bleak future where a ruthless alien empire has seized most of the galaxy. In 2463 the invaders first wipe out the human colony of Novocastria, prompting desperate scientists to activate the “Millennium Soldier” program. Two cloned super‑soldiers, equipped with powerful blasters, become humanity’s last hope. Players guide these warriors through hordes of alien monsters, relentless robots, and massive boss creatures across a series of hostile worlds. The ultimate goal is to push back the alien tide, reclaim lost colonies, and secure a hard‑earned reward for the surviving humans.
