Storyline

Dead or Alive centers on the DOATEC‑run Dead or Alive World Combat Championship, a global fighting tournament that draws combatants from every corner of the world. The story follows Kasumi, a runaway kunoichi of the Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan, who enters the competition to avenge her older brother Hayate, crippled by their uncle Raidou. Hayate was poised to become the clan’s 18th leader, but Raidou’s attack left him unable to assume the role, prompting their father Shiden to order Kasumi to take his place. Defying the clan’s strict laws, Kasumi abandons her village, tracks Raidou to the tournament, and ultimately defeats and kills him. Her desertion breaches the ninja code, making her a hunted fugitive sentenced to death.
