Summary

Crash Bash is a multiplayer party staple from the Crash Bandicoot universe, letting up to four friends dive into 28 assorted mini‑games using a PlayStation Multitap. The hub is a series of Warp Rooms that feed into every challenge, and the roster includes all the classic heroes—Crash, Coco, Tiny, Dingodile, Cortex, Brio, Koala Kong, and newcomer Rilla Roo.

The game divides its content into Adventure, Battle and Tournament modes. Adventure turns the mini‑games into a trophy‑hunt, rewarding gems, crystals and boss battles once enough wins are collected. Battle and Tournament strip things down to quick bouts, letting you set the number of rounds and AI difficulty, and they work as free‑for‑all or teams.

Although critics noted its strong resemblance to Mario Party, Crash Bash was praised for its faithful Crash visuals and chaotic four‑player matches; it also marked the series’ first outing without Naughty Dog and the last exclusive Crash release on a Sony console, with a Japanese version hiding Fake Crash as a secret fighter.

Storyline

Crash Bash’s Adventure campaign is built around a quirky frame story. Aku Aku and his mischievous brother Uka Uka are locked out of direct combat, so they settle their feud by pitting two teams of racers and brawlers against each other. The brothers act as referees while the players scramble for magical crystals scattered across the arenas.
As the contest progresses, Uka Uka secretly plans to harness the collected crystals for his own power, a scheme that Aku Aku eventually uncovers. The campaign’s conclusion hinges on which side the player chose: selecting an Aku‑Aku ally makes the shaman seal the crystals and cast Uka Uka into the vacuum of space, while picking a Uka‑Uka ally lets the villain wield the crystals’ destructive energy. If two gamers finish with characters from opposite sides, a special tie‑breaker match decides the ultimate victor.
