Summary
Chaos Break, the PlayStation follow‑up to the arcade hit Chaos Heat, drops you into a grim biochemical laboratory on a remote island. You can switch between Mitsuki and Rick, members of a clean‑up squad probing an "anomalous thermal reaction". The game blends third‑person shooting with survival‑horror flair: alien parasites, mutated staff and security drones stalk narrow corridors, while a 24‑hour clock tightens door‑access windows. Progress comes from dispatching foes, scavenging corpses and lockers for health packs, ammo, key items and clearance cards, then swapping data discs. Terminals serve as save points and reveal email logs that flesh out the outpost’s doomed experiments. Though its mechanics recall Resident Evil, Chaos Break’s fast‑paced brawler combat and timed environmental hurdles set it apart within early‑2000s console horror.
Storyline
Chaos Break drops players into the derelict Fluxus Biomaterial Industries Lab 7, a contaminated biochemical research complex perched on a remote island. The facility was abandoned after a mysterious outbreak, leaving the labs teeming with hazardous residues. Players choose between Mitsuki or Rick, members of the D.E.F.—an investigatory and cleansing task force. Their mission is to infiltrate the ruined complex, uncover what went wrong, and secure the stolen research data before it falls into the wrong hands. The narrative unfolds through environmental clues and tense encounters as the agents race against time.
