Summary

Bomberman World (sometimes shown as PlayStation Bomberman) mixes classic maze‑bombing with a layered progression system. In each of the five worlds you must guide Bomberman through five areas, blasting obstacles and enemies until you collect every crystal; only then does the exit door swing open. The fourth area of every world pits you against a Dark Force Bomber, and defeating it grants a unique battle armor that adds a normal and a special attack for the next boss—though the armor disappears once you move on to the next world, so you’ll want to make the most of it.

The multiplayer side is where the game really shines. Single Match lets up to five players choose from ten themed maps, with options like Tag Match (team‑based) or Battle Royal (free‑for‑all). You can crank up Sudden Death, where the arena crumbles, or enable Bad Bomber, letting a knocked‑out player keep tossing bombs from the sidelines; the Super setting even resurrects a Bad Bomber after a kill.

Maniac Mode pushes the chaos further by letting you pre‑select which items appear and how many, plus you can start with a custom load‑out. A timed Special Level (two or five minutes) challenges you to rack up points by chaining explosions, grabbing letters, and taking down a final boss for a big bonus.

When a match ends you receive a ranking—Good Bomber, Worst Bomber, and the like—based purely on your point total, giving a personal bragging right even though there’s no official high‑score board.

Storyline

Bomberman World on the PlayStation thrusts players into a classic bomb‑blasting adventure. Long ago, four malevolent Bombers known as the Dark Force Bombers tried to drown the Bomberman world in darkness. Their ancient ancestors managed to seal them inside the mystical Blue Crystal. Millions of years later, a time‑space traveler named Bagular shattered the Blue Crystal, freeing the Dark Force Bombers. The liberated villains became Bagular’s minions and seized control of the four worlds. Now it falls to Bomberman to battle through each realm, defeat Bagular’s forces, and restore peace to the shattered worlds.
