Summary

Blazing Dragons lands on PlayStation as a quirky point‑and‑click adventure that lets you step into the scaled shoes of Flicker, a love‑starved dragon stuck in Camelhot castle. The core goal is simple: gather items, solve a string of whimsical puzzles and prove yourself worthy of a dragon‑knight title so you can win Princess Flame’s hand in the king’s grand tournament. The script brims with Monty‑Python‑style irreverence, thanks to voice‑work from Terry Jones, Cheech Marin and Harry Shearer, while a handy built‑in hint system keeps the brain‑teasers from feeling like dead‑ends. Critics praised the side‑splitting humor and challenging riddles, awarding an 8/10 in Electronic Gaming Monthly, though some noted the load‑times made the console experience feel a bit clunky. For anyone craving a rare adventure title on a PlayStation, the game’s blend of absurd British wit and classic puzzle‑solving delivers a memorable, laugh‑filled quest.

Storyline

In Blazing Dragons, you play as Flicker, a young inventor eager to become a dragon knight and win Princess Flame’s hand. The kingdom of Camelhot is threatened by the scheming Sir George and his magician Mervin, who plot to seize power by kidnapping Flame and building a series of mechanical Black Dragons. Flicker must gather objects, solve puzzles, and enlist the help of both dragons and humans while avoiding any dead‑ends—typical of point‑and‑click adventures. After sabotaging the first Black Dragon, he is falsely credited by Sir Loungealot, prompting Flame’s disappearance and a daring rescue disguised as Sir George. With the Black Dragon II destroyed, Flicker earns knighthood in the Cave of Dilemma, competes in the grand tournament, and defeats Sir Loungealot. The final showdown sees Sir George fused with a third Black Dragon, but Flicker cuts the power, reverting the villain and crushing the machine. The grateful King All‑Fire finally offers Flicker Flame’s hand, sealing his heroic journey.
