Summary
Alundra 2: A New Legend Begins drops you into a vibrant 3D world that feels fresh compared to its top‑down predecessor. You play as Flint, a silent young swordsman on a mission to free a kingdom from a sinister ruler. The game blends classic action‑RPG combat with brain‑twisting puzzles, platforming sections, and exploration that lets you rotate the camera a full 360 degrees. Upgrading Flint’s sword and shield—often by swapping Puzzle Pieces with the enigmatic Lord Jeehan—unlocks combo strikes, while magical rings grant quirky abilities like hovering or walking over lava.
Even though the storyline leans lighter than the original’s gloom, the cast of bizarre characters keeps the mood lively. Voice‑acted cutscenes deliver the plot while the level design rewards curiosity. Critics gave it an average 69 % on GameRankings, noting the mix of charming visuals and occasionally uneven puzzle pacing.
Storyline
Alundra 2: A New Legend Begins drops players into Varuna, where sorcerer Mephisto uses wind‑up keys to enslave humans and turn animals into violent machines. Flint, a pirate hunter wanted for treason, infiltrates a flying airship crewed by humanoid robots with keys in their backs and overhears pirates Zeppo, Albert and Ruby discussing Mephisto’s secret tech.
After Zeppo attacks, the ship crashes; Flint washes ashore, is rescued, and meets Princess Alexia, whose father vanished under Baron Diaz. Together they explore the Church of the Key, battle Mephisto’s mechanical abominations, and are forced by Diaz to collect three relics with the pirates’ aid.
The relics unlock a tower where Mephisto turns Diaz into a mechanical monster and raises the massive Star Key from the sea. Flint frees an enslaved dragon, Tirion, who flies the party to the Star Key; Flint rescues Zeppo, defeats Mephisto’s key‑infused form and watches the structure collapse.
The group escapes on Tirion’s back, and Flint shares a final embrace with Alexia as they soar away.
