Summary

WarioWare: Touched! exploded onto the DS as a launch title, letting me fling a stylus across the tiny screen faster than I ever could with a controller. Every microgame lasts just a few seconds, but the variety is insane: one moment I’m milking a digital cow, the next I’m drawing a moustache on a passing stranger, and blowing into the built‑in mic actually scares off a sneaky ninja. The collection hits 180 mini‑challenges spread over nine stages, each capped by a quirky boss and a set of unlockable “toys” that remix the earlier tricks. Characters like Ashley make their first appearance here, and each avatar brings its own quirky control twist—Dr. Crygor demands circular spins, while Mike relies on the microphone for sound‑based feats.

If you’re left‑handed, there’s a dedicated mode, and the game showers you with “Souvenirs” ranging from a yo‑yo to a ridiculous Grandma Simulator for maxing out scores. A brief 3DS re‑release in 2016 teased My Nintendo members with the same touch‑centric chaos.

Storyline

WarioWare: Touched! opens with Wario stealing two consoles and tripping, sending them down a nearby sewer. The Sewer Guru appears, asking if Wario dropped a two‑screened console, and after a brief battle Wario learns the device is controlled by touching the DS’s bottom screen when the stylus pops out. Realizing its potential, he decides to develop games for it to make a profit.

The game then shifts to self‑contained vignettes for each character: Wario suffers a toothache after too many sweets, Jimmy T. discovers a bug in his hair while dancing, Mona performs a concert, Ashley sends her assistant Red to capture Orbulon, Kat and Ana hunt for stolen bananas, Dr. Crygor upgrades himself with the T.U.N.A. invention, Mike hosts karaoke for alien bunnies, and 9‑Volt and 18‑Volt play a new “36‑Volt Man” challenge.

In the final level, Wario eats some nasty garlic, gets sick, and transforms into his superhero alter‑ego, Wario‑Man.
