Summary

Wario: Master of Disguise (sometimes called Master of Disguise) turns the DS into a costume‑design workshop. By drawing specific symbols with the stylus, you dress Wario in one of seven distinct forms – each granting a unique ability needed to breach a luxury liner, an underwater ruin, an Egyptian pyramid and other globe‑spanning locales.

The game mixes classic platforming with a Metroid‑vania progression; new areas unlock only after you acquire the right form or item. Movement feels retro‑familiar using the D‑pad or A‑B‑X‑Y buttons, while every transformation, trap and treasure‑grab is handled on the touch screen, guided by Goodstyle, the flamboyant magic wand.

Health replaces the invincibility of older Wario titles, adding a modest challenge as you juggle costume changes and collect as much loot as possible.

Storyline

The game opens with Wario lounging at home, flipping through TV channels until he spots a show about the thief Silver Zephyr, who wields a magical disguise wand called Goodstyle. Jealous, Wario builds the Telmet helmet, uses it to jump into the broadcast, steals Goodstyle, and begins plundering the ocean liner the Zephyr was about to rob. The thief, now revealed as Count Cannoli, pursues Wario, offers a shaky deal for the wand, then breaks it when he learns the ship carries a fragment of the Wishstone, an ancient tablet said to grant wishes.

Wario snatches the fragment and sets out to collect the remaining five pieces. In icy caves he encounters another thief, Carpaccio, who is also after the Wishstone. Later, a girl named Tiaramisu—actually the demon Terrormisu sealed inside the Wishstone—appears, pretends to help, and assists Wario in defeating a boss before revealing her true nature. With Cannoli and Carpaccio’s aid, Wario defeats her.

In the finale of Wario: Master of Disguise, Goodstyle is disclosed as the original Count Cannoli; it grants Wario a wish for all the clan’s treasure. However, the Telmet only teleports him back, leaving him empty‑handed, and he vows to re‑enter the television world to claim his loot.
