Summary

Tomodachi Collection drops you onto a tiny island where up to a hundred custom Miis call an apartment complex home. You can build Miis from the DS’s Mii Maker, import them from a Wii, or swap them wirelessly with friends, then give each one a unique voice, temperament and even an "ideal job" linked to their birthdate. The game watches the real‑time clock, so Miis show up hungry, need clothes, want relationships or a quick minigame, and satisfying those requests raises their level and unlocks new outfits, furniture, catchphrases and songs. There’s no win screen—just a steady stream of news broadcasts, career halls, compatibility testers and seasonal events that keep life on the island buzzing. Although it never left Japan, the title moved more than 3 million copies and earned Innovation honors at the 2009 Famitsu Awards, paving the way for the later Tomodachi Life series.

Storyline

Tomodachi Collection lets you manage a cast of Miis that you either import from a Wii or create with the DS’s Mii Maker. You pick each Mii’s appearance and personality, then help them with everyday tasks—feeding them, buying clothes, giving special items, or guiding them through short minigames. As they solve problems they earn experience, level up and receive rewards, which gradually unlock new shops, jobs, and venues on the island.

The Miis live in an apartment complex and develop relationships: they can become friends, fall in love, confess feelings and eventually marry. Their interactions can be cooperative or cause mild conflict, and the in‑game news broadcast reports major events. The Question Hall lets you ask any Mii a question and even have them vote on choices.

There is no set ending; the player’s job is simply to keep the Miis satisfied, watch their lives evolve, and explore the ever‑expanding island as new areas and items appear.
