Summary

Steal Princess drops you into the crumbling palace of the Ancient Demon King, where a careless lock triggers a giant boulder and a plunge into a river. I watch Anise, a quick‑witted thief, rescued by a centuries‑old fairy and thrust before a king who believes she’s the heir of a forgotten hero. The game breaks the castle into sprawling zones, each packed with bite‑size levels that last only a few minutes. Success means clearing enemies, flipping switches and solving puzzles that start simple and layer into tricky combos. The standout feature is its built‑in level editor, letting anyone craft dungeons and exchange them over the DS’s Wi‑Fi Connection. Atlus shuffled the North‑American launch three times in early 2009, finally dropping it with a free mini‑poster. Critics were split—Metacritic sits at 60/100, with Famitsu giving 28/40.

Storyline

Steal Princess (often just called Steal Princess) follows the daring thief Anise. While breaking into the Ancient Demon King’s palace she accidentally triggers a deadly booby‑trap, barely escaping before losing consciousness. A tiny fairy named Kukri finds her, revives her and whisks her to Albyon Castle. There, Kukri reveals that Anise is a direct descendant of the Legendary Hero of Albyon, a lineage the king reveres. He orders her to rescue the captured prince, who is being held deep within the Demon King’s stronghold, setting the stage for the game’s action‑packed quest.
