Storyline

In Spectrobes, Nanairo Planetary Patrol officers Rallen and Jeena answer a strange distress signal and find an escape capsule containing Aldous, an old man who has been in cryogenic sleep for over a decade. Aldous tells them that his home world was overrun by the planet‑eating Krawl, and the trio set out to stop the invasion of Nanairo. After battling Krawl forces on five of the system’s seven planets, Commander Grant reveals that the enemy has established a base on the seventh world, Meido, but the patrol’s ship cannot reach it. Aldous discovers that ancient ruins are actually a dormant spacecraft; by collecting Keystones they reactivate it and fly to Meido. On Meido they confront Xelles, a massive Krawl that heals anything nearby, defeat it, and then face the Leader Krawl. With the Leader destroyed, the Krawl invasion is halted—at least for now.
