Summary
Princess Maker 4 DS Special Edition brings the drama‑heavy fourth instalment of the series to Nintendo’s handheld, extending the PlayStation 2 release with a handful of exclusive endings and an after‑credits gallery. GeneX handled the core development while series creator Takami Akai supervised, and Tenhiro Naoto supplied the character art, giving the title a distinctive look that fans of Sister Princess will recognize. Unlike the earlier adventure‑mode experiments, this version streamlines the experience back toward the classic Princess Maker 2 formula, but it adds full voice work—including well‑known actor Sakurai Takahiro—as a staple of the Japanese releases. The DS edition also trims the more adult‑themed jobs, steering the daughter’s career options away from cabaret and assassin roles. For completionists, the extra endings unlock after the first clear, rewarding players with an ending gallery not seen in the PC version.
Storyline
The human kingdom has been locked in a brutal war with the demon realm. A mysterious heroine named Isabelle intervenes, halting the conflict before vanishing without a trace. Ten years later the war flares again, and the soldier‑protagonist who once loved her finally tracks her down. She hands him a young girl—default named Patricia—and a loyal demon butler called Cube, then disappears once more.
With the child and Cube now under his protection, the soldier’s new mission is to raise Patricia while navigating the renewed hostilities between the two kingdoms. Her upbringing will decide not only her own destiny but also the fate of both human and demon realms.
