Storyline

Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs opens over the island region of Oblivia, where you and a fellow Ranger—Summer for a male player or Ben for a female player—fly Staraptors in pursuit of the Pokémon Pinchers. The Pinchers are after a legendary Latios (or Latias for a female player), and you manage to distract them long enough for the dragon‑type to escape. Their squad leader, Red Eyes, then fires a plasma weapon, forcing you to shield your partner and plunge into the sea, losing your styler while your companion is captured.

You wash up on Dolce Island and encounter a tiny Pichu clutching a broken ukulele. After fixing the instrument, the creature—nicknamed Ukulele Pichu—becomes your new partner Pokémon and helps you regain your ranger credentials. As a freshly recruited Pokémon Ranger, you begin taking on a variety of missions across Oblivia.

Throughout the game you meet allies, rivals, and a host of Pokémon while confronting the Pokémon Pinchers, who seek to control Pokémon for their own ends. With your new partners at your side, you work to thwart the Pinchers’ schemes and restore peace to the island region.
