Storyline

They also learn of an ancient legend about a human cursed for a thousand years by Ninetales after stealing its tail, a curse that was supposedly transferred to a Gardevoir. A Gardevoir begins appearing in the player’s dreams, and the duo visits the fortune‑teller Xatu, who confirms the player’s human past and hints at a link to the disasters. Gengar spreads rumors that the player is the cursed human, prompting the townsfolk to hunt them, and the team is given one night to flee.

While being pursued, the pair traverses increasingly remote dungeons and meets Absol, who joins them to uncover the true cause of the calamities. They are cornered by Alakazam’s team but are rescued by Ninetales, who reveals the player is not the legendary human and warns that the awakened Groudon threatens the world.
