Summary
Overlord: Minions (often called Overlord Minions) is a DS puzzle‑action spin‑off that puts the mischievous minions front‑and‑center. The stylus becomes the Overlord’s remote hand, letting you drag, swipe and tap to command the four‑member Special Forces crew.
The crew—Giblet, Blaze, Stench and Zap—each bring a dedicated skill set: Giblet bashes foes in melee, Blaze fires explosive fireballs, Stench sneaks past obstacles, and Zap handles swimming and healing. Their cartoonish look amplifies the series’ cheeky humor.
Levels are packed with warped enemies and hidden items, while a timer pushes you to out‑pace the Kindred cult, which is desperate to resurrect the Dragon Kin, a race of humanoid dragons. The game’s focus on precise touchscreen gestures turns puzzle solving and combat into a light‑hearted yet challenging experience.
Storyline
In Overlord: Minions on the DS, the elite squad of Giblet, Blaze, Stench and Zap is sent by Overlord Gromgard to eliminate opposition. Their first mission takes them into the Withering Woods, where a sentient fungus called Globulous is corrupting plants and human subjects. After destroying Globulous, they descend into the sewer pipes beneath the forest.
The pipes lead to the halfling town Briarthorn Burrows, where the Kindred cult is trying to revive the extinct Dragon‑Kin. The minions fight through the settlement and kill Grub, the cult’s halfling lieutenant.
Next they storm Cloudland Keep on Shimmer Mountain, slaying Lady Opal, the crystalline Kindred commander. At the Fossilized Temple they defeat Duggen, a giant mutant dwarf, then move to the Floating Forest and defeat Ash, a dragon‑elf hybrid.
The final battle occurs at Dragonspire against Silas Silvanus, last Dragon‑Kin and Kindred leader. He unleashes his ultimate experiment Tiberius, but the minions destroy both him and the creature, ending the Kindred threat.
