Summary
My World, My Way drops you straight into the shoes of Princess Elise, a spoiled royal who thinks a pout can solve just about anything. The core mechanic lets you spend “pout points” to reshuffle the environment—turning barren fields into forests, deserts into fire pits—or coerce monsters to drop extra loot. It’s a cheeky way to grind, letting you refresh a grid of items and foes whenever the area runs dry.
Combat partners Elise’s gelatinous pet, the Mimic Slime, which grows by copying whatever enemy it faces. If it defeats a tanky foe, its own hit points swell; mimic a foe’s gear and the slime inherits that equipment. This “learn by copying” twist makes battles feel like a puzzle where you deliberately bait the right adversaries to shape your slime’s skill set.
Critics were split; IGN praised the game’s inventive premise and lighthearted fun, while GameSpot called the story flat and the battles under‑whelming. Japanese magazine Famitsu gave it a decent 31 out of 40, hinting that the quirky mechanics appealed to a niche crowd. If you enjoy tinkering with game worlds and watching a slime copy your opponents, the title’s quirky charm can be surprisingly addictive.
Storyline
My World, My Way follows Princess Elise, a pampered royal who has everything she could wish for except a boyfriend. On her 15th birthday she orders a grand ball, inviting every prince in the realm, hoping to meet her perfect match. At the ball she encounters a rugged adventurer instead of a prince, and he tells her that she must become an experienced adventurer herself if she ever hopes to win his heart. Determined, Elise shocks the kingdom by leaving the palace to train, hunt monsters, and explore dungeons. The game’s story tracks her transformation from sheltered royalty to capable heroine, driven by love and the desire to prove herself.
