Summary

Lost in Blue puts you in the shoes of a teenage girl and boy marooned on an apparently empty island, and the gameplay leans heavily into cooperation. I was hooked by the dual‑perspective design: you start out as the boy, learning to fish and hunt, then flip to the girl and discover a whole new set of tasks such as foraging and crafting tools. The survival mechanics force you to share resources and responsibilities, making the partnership feel genuine rather than just a story hook. While the original 2005 DS entry was a Konami project, its follow‑ups – Lost in Blue 2 and Lost in Blue 3 – were handed off to Matrix Software, arriving on the handheld in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Those sequels expanded the island’s ecosystem and refined the two‑person dynamic, keeping the series fresh for anyone craving a cooperative survival experience.

Storyline

Lost in Blue opens with a fierce storm that capsizes the ship carrying the protagonists. Keith is knocked unconscious as the vessel sinks, while Skye manages to cling to a liferaft that miraculously stays intact. He awakens on a southern beach of a deserted island, finds shelter in a nearby cave, and spends his first night alone. The next morning he discovers Skye asleep beside her raft and the two finally meet, learning that she can’t see well because her glasses were lost in the chaos. During the search Keith accidentally steps on the broken lenses, leaving Skye virtually blind and wholly dependent on his guidance. Together they return to the cave, turning it into a makeshift home as they begin their struggle for survival.
