Summary

Kirby: Squeak Squad (known as Kirby: Mouse Attack in Europe) brings the pink puffball back to the DS as a classic side‑scroll platformer, this time using the face buttons instead of the touch screen for movement. The game keeps Kirby’s signature copy‑ability, letting him inhale foes and store up to five abilities or items in his stomach, which is displayed on the lower screen. When you find a Copy Scroll, you can drag one ability onto another with the stylus to fuse them into a new power, or risk a random bubble if they don’t match. Each level hides treasure chests; the bigger ones require a showdown with a member of the Squeak Squad before they’re awarded, and you must have enough stomach space to keep the loot. For a quick break, the title offers three multiplayer minigames—Treasure Shot, Speedy Teatime, and Smash Ride—letting friends compete in Squeak‑themed challenges.

Storyline

In Kirby: Squeak Squad, a peaceful afternoon in Dream Land is shattered when Kirby’s strawberry shortcake vanishes just as he’s about to take a bite. He first blames King Dedede, defeats the king at his Prism Plains castle, and discovers the real culprits are a gang of treasure‑thieving mice called the Squeaks. The Squeaks flee with Dedede’s belongings, prompting Kirby to chase them across Dream Land to their hideout on Ice Island, where he battles their leader Daroach.

After defeating Daroach, Kirby reaches the treasure chest that should contain his cake, but Meta Knight swoops in, snatches it, and retreats to the Secret Sea. Kirby follows, fights Meta Knight aboard the Halberd, and finally opens the chest—only to release a dark cloud that possesses Daroach and drags him to the distant Gamble Galaxy. Kirby confronts the possessed Daroach, defeats the darkness, which transforms into a black star and then reveals itself as Dark Nebula, the true prisoner of the chest.

With Dark Nebula vanquished, Kirby returns to Dream Land. In a post‑credits scene, the Squeaks, feeling guilty, send Kirby his reclaimed shortcake, allowing him to finally enjoy his snack.
