Summary

Inuyasha: Secret of the Divine Jewel brings the world of Rumiko Takahashi’s anime to the Nintendo DS as a turn‑based RPG. Storyline

Janis is a transfer student from the United States who ends up in Japan for a second time during her last year of middle school. After a strange dream of the Heian period, she befriends Kagome Higurashi at school. When Kagome is absent, Janis checks the Higurashi Shrine and is attacked by a demon emerging from the Bone Eater’s Well. She is saved by a masked priest known as Monk Sen, who tells her that her destiny lies beyond the well. He urges her to travel to the Sengoku era.

Passing through the well, Janis reunites with Kagome, Inuyasha, Miroku, Sango and the young fox demon Shippō. Touching a fragment of the Shikon Jewel causes it to melt into her body, awakening a divine spiritual power called Kamuitama. Monk Sen explains that Janis is the daughter of the god Kamui and that the fragment must be returned to the deity Datara. Only by giving the Kamuitama back can she remove the jewel shard and end the demons’ interest in her. She joins the group on their quest to locate Datara.

Lord Gorai, a half‑cat demon who once wielded the Demon Mask, grants the party safe passage through the mountains. Naraku, the series’ mastermind, watches Janis’s newfound power with interest. The core team—Inuyasha, a half‑demon with the sword Tetsusagia; Kagome, a modern archer and reincarnation of priestess Kikyō; Miroku, a cursed monk; Sango, a demon‑slayer with the boomerang Hiraikotsu; and Shippō, a mischievous fox demon—support Janis in her journey. Together they seek to return the Kamuitama to Datara and free Janis from the Shikon Jewel’s grip.
