Summary

Hoshigami Remix brings the tactical depth of the PlayStation original to the DS with a host of quality‑of‑life upgrades. A brand‑new character and expanded mission list give returning fans fresh content, while a completely re‑localized script adds a sharper sense of humor for English speakers. The dual screens shine thanks to an overhauled UI that lets you issue commands with a stylus, making menu navigation feel almost as quick as a button press. Battles themselves are richer: the Shoot system lets you fling allies or foes two squares for chain reactions, the RAP gauge rewards aggressive moves but delays subsequent turns if you overextend, and the Session mechanic lets a "host" character chain multiple shots through party members for massive damage. Six core religions—and two secret ones—shape growth, weapon skills, and spell lists, while wireless trading adds a cooperative twist. The difficulty selector and three skill tiers make the game welcoming to newcomers without sacrificing the challenge that longtime strategy gamers love.

Storyline

Hoshigami: Ruining Blue Earth Remix throws players into a war between the Kingdoms of Valaim and Nightweld on the continent of Mardias. The mercenary leader Fazz is hired to protect one of the Ruins of Ixia from the Valamian army, while an ominous evil being rises in the shadows.

Fazz’s band includes the spear‑wielding loner Leimrey, his childhood friend Tinn who secretly admires him, and the mysterious woman Elena he meets on the road. Nightweld’s Royal Guard leader Reuperl contracts the duo, and they clash with Valaim’s knight Alveen, who fights to restore his family name. Former mercenary Gomes, now a merchant living with the Tuchi Tribe, and the enigmatic priest Silphatos also cross their paths.

Behind the scenes, Emperor Fernandez is guided by the Priest of Earth, Villa, while the ruthless commander Blackthorn and bandit queen Jacqueline pursue their own hidden agendas, threatening the fate of Mardias.
