Summary

Horsez (aka Alexandra Ledermann: Adventures at a Gallop) landed on the Nintendo DS as part of Ubisoft’s 2006 Petz spin‑off. The core loop is a weekly timetable where you must hit score thresholds in a mix of disciplines—Horse Care, Cross‑Country, Dressage, Showjumping, then later Foal Care and Learning—to keep progressing. I liked how the game pushed you to juggle stall cleaning, grooming, and even reading library books to unlock new gaits, while a social rating rose from chatting with fellow riders, taking photos, and shopping at in‑game stores. Secretly tucked away are ten collectible figurines that reward exploration, and the title spices things up with free‑range moments where you can steer either the rider or the horse, solve riddles and trigger numerous cut‑scenes. Critics were split: GameZone gave it 5.6/10, IGN was harsher at 4/10, while Jeuxvideo.com was more generous at 7/10, painting a mixed picture for this niche equestrian simulator.

Storyline

In Horsez for the Nintendo DS, you step into the shoes of Flora, the default‑named newcomer at Sycamore Academy. At the start you choose a horse from one of five distinct breeds, customizing its colour to suit your style. The game lets you train the animal across a variety of disciplines, from dressage to jumping, and enter it in local shows to earn ribbons. Daily care routines such as feeding, grooming, and health checks keep the partnership strong. After a few in‑game weeks your efforts are rewarded with a foal, which you can raise and guide into its own competitive career.
