Storyline

The plot of Godzilla Unleashed: Double Smash picks up twenty years after Godzilla: Save the Earth. A massive meteor shower triggers climate shifts, earthquakes, and strange crystals sprouting from the ground, which in turn awaken monsters that begin ravaging cities worldwide. Four distinct monster factions emerge, and human groups—GDF, Earth Defenders, and alien forces—form uneasy alliances, with player choices shaping the relationships between them. The alien Vortaak return, attempting to seize the crystals, but their mothership crashes into San Francisco Bay, setting the stage for a final showdown.
The ending depends on who controls the crystal power. An alien victory sees Vorticia cackle maniacally, while a mutant win causes the crystals to spread uncontrollably like a cancer. If SpaceGodzilla claims the crystals, the Mutant ending plays out with SpaceGodzilla letting out a triumphal roar. When the GDF or Earth Defenders prevail, their monster ally is thanked as the world returns to normal. Rumors of alternate alien‑or‑mutant hero endings are unfounded.
