Summary

Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero whisks me into a tops‑down hide‑and‑seek quest where Kai and his buddy Zero are swept into a series of whimsical worlds, each filled with mischievous Omega Elebits that grant magical abilities. I spend my time shaking trees, lifting rocks, and snapping up startled Elebits before they disappear, earning extra energy for quick chains of captures. The gathered power fuels doors, elevators and spectacular Omega abilities, letting me solve increasingly clever puzzles that feel right out of a handheld Zelda adventure.

The DS stylus becomes my main tool; it lets me tug, swipe and draw paths that emphasize clever problem‑solving over the motion‑controlled physics of the Wii original. Produced by Shingo Mukaitoge, the sequel was designed specifically for the DS, and it has paid off—critics across the board praised its cute charm, rewarding gameplay and solid puzzles, giving it generally favorable reviews on Metacritic and thumbs‑up from IGN, Nintendo Power, and GameSpot.

Storyline

The game picks up after Elebits, with Kai turning the Omega Elebit he rescued into his pet, Zero. An accidental charge of his father’s magical bus, G.G, whisks the duo into an alternate universe, and each ride sends them to a new world.\n\nIn the first village, an Omega monster ravages the town; defeating it earns Kai a map to the Elebit Mine. There he meets the Pickle Gang, rescues a missing member, and receives another map leading onward.\n\nThe next stop is a beach resort where a ship extracts energy from an Omega, causing it to overheat. After calming the overheating Omega, the captain rewards Kai with a map. A snowy world follows, its villagers blaming the Snow Queen for melting snow and missing children. The Snow Queen awakens Zero’s powers and hands Kai another map. A blond boy named Leo appears, later revealed to wield an Omega called Mobius.\n\nLeo’s volcanic realm is dying, and Kai shuts down all the volcanoes. He discovers a mural hinting at a maiden, Misha, who sleeps in the Sea Temple. With two pearls he opens the temple, defeats an Omega and awakens Misha. She directs him to Liybra of Crystal, where Kai and Zero confront Mobius and restore the worlds. Finally they return to their own world, things back to normal.
