Summary
Dungeon Explorer: Warriors of Ancient Arts lets you dive into a kingdom on the brink of ruin, honing both blades and mystic arts. The game boasts hundreds of weapons, armors and equipment pieces that you can continually upgrade, and you can wield two weapons at once to tailor your combat style.
At launch you pick from three races and six basic classes, then swap and rank them outside dungeons to keep progress. Mixing a B‑rank and an A‑rank class unlocks six advanced classes that inherit all prior abilities and grant brand‑new powers and signature weapons.
Elemental jewels are the keystone of progression—they power dungeons, power up gear, can be fused or used in alchemy, and correspond to planet‑themed realms with their own status effects. As you level up, plates become stronger by inserting these jewels, and tougher dungeons (including blind ones that hide the mini‑map) open up.
The title also supports Ad‑Hoc multiplayer for up to three players, letting you combine your fighting arts—like the spectacular “Big Bang” skillset—for triple‑damage raids, while the Nintendo DS version adds online Wi‑Fi play for broader battles.
Storyline
Dungeon Explorer: Warriors of Ancient Arts opens with an unnamed, fully customizable adventurer arriving in a besieged town. The player quickly learns that a massive structure dominates the town’s center, and a great evil is straining to break free from it. As the barrier that seals the darkness weakens, the town teeters on the brink of destruction. Determined to protect the villagers, the hero sets out to uncover what is weakening the seal. The quest culminates in confronting the source of the corruption and stopping the evil from escaping.
