Summary
Cid to Chocobo no Fushigi na Dungeon: Toki Wasure no Meikyū DS+ is the Nintendo DS take on Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon, bringing the roguelike charm of the series to the handheld. Beyond a straight port, this DS+ edition adds a fresh storyline that centers on the beloved Cid, giving players a new narrative thread while they trek through the usual randomly generated labyrinths. The core turn‑based combat remains, so the strategic feel of assembling party members and timing actions is unchanged. What’s really different is the introduction of a brand‑new job that characters can learn, expanding the customization options that fans have come to expect. The dual screens are put to use for map overviews and touch‑enabled shortcuts, making navigation smoother without altering the essential formula.
Storyline
In Cid to Chocobo no Fushigi na Dungeon Toki Wasure no Meikyuu DS+, Cid and his trusty Chocobo are hunting the fabled Timeless Power gem to fuel their airship. Their quest is interrupted when a vortex drags them to Lostime, a quiet town on the forgotten island of Memoria that vanished from the world fifty years ago. The town’s clock tower tolls the Bell of Oblivion, a strange sound that erases the memories of anyone who hears it. Teaming up with a new ally, Shirma, and a mysterious boy named Raffaello—who can shape labyrinths from memories—Cid and Chocobo set out to restore the townsfolk’s lost recollections. As they piece together the past, the true nature of Raffaello and the calamity that cursed Lostime are finally revealed.
