Summary

Captain America: Super Soldier received a Nintendo DS hand‑held adaptation that squeezes the film‑inspired action into the system’s dual‑screen layout. The port keeps the third‑person perspective, letting me swing Steve Rogers around tiny battlefields while tapping with the stylus. It’s surprising how well the game’s cinematic feel translates onto such modest hardware, and the extra screen offers quick access to inventory and Intel points.

The combat feels a lot like the Batman: Arkham titles—shield bashes, combos and wall‑climbs flow together with the series‑signature tactical vision that highlights usable surfaces. I could upgrade the hero through Intel points earned by defeating soldiers or collecting on‑field items. Even better, the original movie cast—Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell and others—re‑recorded their lines, so the DS version carries the authentic dialogue straight from the film.

Storyline

In 1944 France a U.S. unit is ambushed by Hydra. Captain America steps in, secures the battlefield and alerts Howard Stark about the advanced weapons. A radio briefing with Peggy Carter reveals the munitions contain rare Bavarian metals and introduces Dr. Arnim Zola’s “Project: Master Man.”

He parachutes into Castle Zemo, disables anti‑air batteries and an armory, allowing the Invaders to land. Hydra fires an energy cannon; Cap tries to sabotage its radar and battles Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, who knocks him out. He awakens in Zola’s lab, restrained by Iron Cross and Madame Hydra, who explains they are harvesting his blood to replicate the Super‑Soldier Serum.

Cap escapes, frees Bucky Barnes, then Dum‑Dum Dugan and James Falsworth. After a brief encounter with Madame Hydra she flees, the Red Skull arrives with the Cosmic Cube, and Cap stops a perfected serum while defeating Iron Cross. The Red Skull activates the Sleeper automaton, which destroys the lab; Cap destroys Zola’s robotic body, rescues Falsworth and leads the Invaders in a final assault that demolishes the Sleeper and lets the liberated forces withdraw.
