Summary
‘Biker Mice from Mars’ on the DS lets you hop into the wheels of Throttle, Vinnie or Modo and zip through levels that blend side‑scrolling action with occasional boss duels. A quick‑draw mechanic lets you deploy weapons and gadgets that Charley, the on‑screen mechanic, whips up between runs, while General Carbine feeds you mission updates on the fly. The title leans heavily on split‑screen bike handling and simple combos, giving the game a bright, comic‑book feel despite its modest graphics. Critics weren’t kind – the DS version landed a low score on Metacritic and drew one‑star reviews from both Eurogamer and IGN, calling it a missed chance to capture the series’ goofy spirit.
Storyline
On Mars, the Martian Freedom Fighters clash with the invading Catatonian Empire over a single device: the Regenerator, a machine capable of terraforming the planet into a safe haven for mice. The Catatonians aim to seize it for conquest, while Freedom Fighter General Stoker alone knows how to assemble it, prompting him to leave the battlefield and search Earth for essential molecules.
When Stoker’s communications go dark, General Carbine dispatches the Biker Mice from Mars. The trio lands in Chicago, teams up with garage owner Charley Davidson, and establishes the Last Chance Garage as their headquarters.
In the Nintendo DS game Biker Mice From Mars, the Catatonian leaders General Hairball and Cataclysm follow the mice to Earth, hoping to capture Stoker and claim the Regenerator. Meanwhile, eccentric billionaire Ronaldo Rump—who already owns a dwindling Regenerator for his profit schemes—also hunts Stoker, adding another layer of danger to the mice’s mission.
