Summary

Waialae Country Club: True Golf Classics drops you onto the sun‑kissed fairways of East Honolulu’s famed Waialae Golf Course, a layout riddled with deep bunkers and notoriously fast greens. The N64 version captures the island vibe without any PGA licensing, so every golfer you control is, by default, male.

Before you tee off you can pick a golfer, assign a caddy, and fine‑tune a whole suite of stats—power, putting, technical, recovery and even wind handling—to match your play style. The game offers a practice mode, a full‑blown tournament, stroke‑match challenges against friends, plus match‑play, skins and the Waialae Open for those who crave variety.

Critics were split: IGN called it a formulaic golf title with decent sound effects, while the graphics were lambasted as dated for a late‑cycle N64 release, earning it middling scores around the 5‑6/10 range. Despite the lukewarm reviews, it slipped into the seventh spot on the U.S. home‑console sales chart in its debut month.
