Summary

Sydney 2000 lets you step into the official video game of the 2000 Olympic Games, letting 32 nations compete across twelve classic events. I can line up for the 100‑meter sprint, feel the tension of the 110‑meter hurdles, or launch a hammer and javelin with a simple N64 controller. The game also covers the high‑jump, triple‑jump and the 100‑meter freestyle swim, plus a sprint cycling track that feels surprisingly fast for the hardware. For a change of pace there’s skeet shooting, super‑heavyweight weightlifting, 10‑meter platform diving and a kayak K‑1 slalom that tests timing. Each discipline is presented with bright, colorful sprites and a straightforward menu that makes it easy to jump from one sport to the next.
