Summary

Roadsters, sometimes referred to by its working title Roadsters Trophy, drops you into a surprisingly deep N64 racing experience. You start by picking one of eight colorful racers, getting a modest bankroll, and then shopping from a roster of 34 cars that mixes real‑world makes like Mitsubishi, Alfa Romeo and Lotus with cleverly disguised knock‑offs. The career‑style Roadster Trophy mode forces you to juggle cash, upgrade parts, and even trade or bet on cars as you climb three difficulty divisions—each demanding more money but offering tougher competition. Quick Race lets you set up any circuit, weather and opponent lineup for a fast‑paced showdown, while the split‑screen multiplayer supports two human drivers plus four CPU racers, with both vertical and horizontal layouts. The game tracks weather shifts across ten adrenaline‑pumping tracks and even saves progress via the Controller Pak. Critics gave it a lukewarm 63% on GameRankings, praising a solid engine but noting it never quite reaches the pulse‑racing thrills of San Francisco Rush.
