Summary

Monster Truck Madness 64 feels like a polished remix of its predecessor. The graphics are sharper, the interface gets a tidy overhaul, and new trucks and tracks—plus weather that actually changes during a run—keep the experience fresh, even though the underlying engine is essentially the same. Most custom trucks and tracks you built for the original still slot right in, thanks to the game’s file‑mounting system that lets you add or remove content with a simple editor.

The roster is a nostalgic roll‑call of monster‑truck legends: Bigfoot, Grave Digger, Carolina Crusher, and a quirky set of "WrestleTrucks" named after WCW stars, a nod reinforced by a TV spot starring Kevin Nash. "Army" Armstrong returns as the commentator, delivering updated race calls that feel surprisingly lively.

A hidden quirk remains: the elusive "Chuck's Car" (a Chevrolet Camaro) is hinted at by a "CHUCK" cheat code, yet it never actually appears. The only way to tackle the "Summit Rumble" king‑of‑the‑hill tracks is to go online, a reminder of the game’s early multiplayer ambitions. Critics were split, leaving the title with a mixed reception overall.
