Summary

Jangou Simulation: Mahjong-dou 64 is a curious entry in the N64 catalog, a Japanese‑only release that mixes Mahjong tiles with a simulation framework.

Developed by a little‑known studio called Art and published by Video System, the game arrived in 1997, slipping under the radar of most Western gamers.

Its classification as “Miscellaneous” hints at a hybrid design that defies easy genre labels, offering both puzzle‑like tile matching and a broader strategic layer.

For collectors, the title is a reminder of how the N64’s library stretched beyond the usual platformers, delivering niche experiences that still intrigue retro fans today.
