Summary

Fighter Destiny 2 is a Nintendo 64‑only 3D fighter that swaps the usual health bars for a quirky point‑based win condition, a twist that still feels fresh after more than two decades. The sequel drops the plural from its predecessor’s name and even carries a tongue‑in‑cheek Japanese subtitle, *Kakutō Denshō: F‑Cup Maniax*, hinting at its over‑the‑top style. What really caught my eye is the added “Fighter’s Arena” mode – a giant board‑game‑like system where you can boost your character’s stats and learn new moves between bouts.

The roster expands to eleven default fighters. Veteran Saeki (formerly Ryuji) returns alongside familiar faces like Abdul, Meiling, Ninja and Pierre, while fresh blood includes samba‑dancing Adriana, mad‑scientist Federico, pro‑wrestler D‑Dog, fashion model Kate, cyborg Ziege, and punk rocker Dixon. Five secret characters round out the cast: French noble Fabien, a cow‑like Mou, a Japanese training robot Samurai, the returning Master, and Cherry, an American drag queen whose voice was feminized for the US release.
