Summary
Armorines: Project S.W.A.R.M. lets you slip into the boots of either Tony Lewis or Myra Lane, each starting with a distinct weapon that shapes the early pace of the match. Tony’s heavy‑hitting gun feels deliberate, while Myra’s rapid‑fire rifle lets you pepper enemies before they can react, and both characters can scavenge a handful of exclusive armaments as the levels progress.
The game’s five environments swing from gritty Earth bases to zero‑gravity space corridors, and each stage hides a special weapon that can be upgraded three times, rewarding players who explore every nook. Some sections even shift into on‑rails moments, breaking the usual first‑person flow and adding a cinematic punch.
Multiplayer shines with a four‑player versus mode that offers Deathmatch, Racewars (where you can become a bug‑like alien with unique abilities), Capture the Flag and King of the Hill. A two‑player co‑op campaign lets friends tackle the story together, sharing the same weapon load‑outs and power‑ups.
Running on the Turok 2 engine, the N64 version unlocks a sharper 480×360 resolution when you pop in the Expansion Pak, and the Rumble Pak adds tactile feedback for every blast and explosion.
Storyline
Armorines – Project S.W.A.R.M., often just called Armorines, puts players in the boots of a futuristic marine unit tasked with defending Earth from an alien spider‑like invasion.
The game follows two operatives, Tony Lewis and Myra Lane, each wearing a distinct Armorine suit that comes with its own load‑out of weapons and equipment.
These Armorines are presented as a highly classified, virtually indestructible fighting force, designed to survive even the threat of a nuclear conflict while hunting down the extraterrestrial menace.
