Summary

Yo! Noid landed on the NES as a quirky cross‑promotion for Domino’s Pizza’s mascot, the Noid, and even made its way onto Nintendo’s PlayChoice‑10 arcade cabinets. The game also popped up on Japan’s GameCenter CX TV show, giving the title a brief television cameo.

Built on a modified Wagyan Land engine, the platformer foregoes a health meter; a single hit or running out of time ends the run. Players swing a yo‑yo to break open scrolls that grant magic points for powerful screen‑clears, while scoring 20,000 points nets an extra life. The mix includes foot‑travel, skateboarding sections, and an occasional autogyro ride for a touch of variety.

Decades later the Noid’s legacy earned a fan‑made sequel, Yo! Noid 2: Enter the Void, released as freeware in 2017, followed by a “Game of a Year Edition” the next year, proving the pizza‑throwing ninja still has cult‑card appeal.

Storyline

Yo! Noid opens with a frantic news bulletin about Mr. Green, a green doppelgänger of the Noid, leading a horde of wild slime‑like creatures through New York City. The creatures run amok, causing chaos and mass hysteria across the streets. In response, the mayor summons the Noid, promising a massive pizza reward if he can restore order. Armed with his signature super yo‑yo and a handful of quirky inventions, the Noid sets out to chase down Mr. Green and his minions. The platform‑action adventure follows his quest to clear the city, defeat the mischievous gang, and claim the cheesy prize.
