Summary
Wai Wai World 2 – SOS!! Parsley Jō lets you kick off by picking one of four character groups, each bundling three classic Konami heroes. You start each stage as the quirky Rickle, but snag a special power‑up and you can temporarily morph into any of the three teammates you selected, swapping abilities on the fly. The platforming feels straight‑up Contra‑style, yet the levels are love‑letter spoofs of iconic Konami stages, and the game throws in surprise genres: a scrolling space shooter, a top‑down driving segment, and even a puzzle room. After a few stages you’re faced with branching paths, letting you steer the adventure toward different worlds. Though it never left Japan on its original Famicom cartridge, the title resurfaced on the Wii U Virtual Console in September 2015, giving modern players a chance to revisit its quirky crossover charm.
Storyline
Wai Wai World 2 – SOS!! Paseri Jou opens with a brief era of peace in the whimsical realm of Wai Wai World. Suddenly, a dark sorcerer named Warūmon (also called Waruumon) bursts from the shadows and swiftly conquers the land. Dr. Cinnamon, who was away on a sightseeing trip when the attack began, returns to find his world in chaos. He activates his secret Konami Hero Transformation Circuit and builds a super‑robot called Rickle (sometimes referred to as Rikkuru).
Rickle is dispatched to challenge Warūmon and restore order. The hero must journey across the many zones of Wai Wai World, confronting familiar obstacles and allies from previous Konami titles. Along the way, the robot’s unique abilities allow it to transform and use powers borrowed from those classic heroes.
Warūmon retaliates by kidnapping the Herb Princess and whisking her away to his space‑bound stronghold, Parsley Castle. From there he resurrects a roster of villains that the original Konami heroes had once defeated, sending them to block Rickle’s progress. The stage is set for a colorful showdown as Rickle battles through revived foes to rescue the princess and free Wai Wai World.
