Summary

The Legend of Robin Hood for the NES was poised to hit shelves when the cultural buzz around Kevin Costner’s *Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves* hit its peak. Arcadia Studios had the game nearly finished, but the sudden need to secure licenses from both Nintendo and the blockbuster film proved too costly, and the project was quietly shelved. What remained was an ambitious action‑RPG that let players experience the daily grind of Robin’s band of Merry‑Men, from forest skirmishes to covert missions. The design blended classic side‑scroll combat with light role‑playing elements, giving each of the outlaws a distinct role in the legend. Though it never saw an official release, the unfinished prototype has become a curious footnote in retro gaming lore.

Storyline

The Legend of Robin Hood (often just called Robin Hood) for the NES depicts the life of all the Merry‑Men, showcasing their adventures and roles within the legendary outlaw band.
