Summary

Star Force (known as Mega Force on the NES) drops you into the cockpit of the Final Star, a lone vessel tasked with blasting through a gauntlet of alien formations. Each stage is labeled with a Greek letter, and after the Omega target the game unlocks an "Infinity" level that simply loops the same boss fight over and over. The ship only offers two power‑up tiers and no missiles or bombs, forcing you to rely on pure firepower and dodging skill. The NES edition, produced by Tecmo rather than Hudson, swaps out the arcade’s graphics, music, and control feel, and even patches a quirky bug that let players freeze enemy spawns by refusing to shoot. After the Omega showdown a black screen flashes the Tecmo logo, teasing the sequel Super Star Force before the endless loop begins. Though the arcade version once ranked among Japan’s top table units, the home ports have kept the stripped‑down, high‑score‑chasing formula alive across dozens of retro collections.
