Summary
The NES version of Spy Hunter drops you into an overhead highway where your Interceptor is armed with a nonstop machine‑gun. As you blaze past enemy cars, you can slam into the back of a weapons van to snag a secondary tool—smoke screens, oil slicks or missiles—each with a limited supply that disappears when your vehicle is destroyed. Occasionally the road forks into a boathouse, instantly converting the car into a speedboat; in this mode the oil slick becomes a flamethrower while the other specials stay the same.
The game keeps the action fresh by cycling through different terrains and weather, even slipping into winter with slick, icy roads that demand extra caution. Enemy drivers aren’t shy about aggression: limousines fire from the rear, helicopters drop bombs from above, and rival cars will try to ram you off the pavement. Every hit, crash or off‑road slip ends the current run, and the score only ticks while you stay on the road and keep destroying foes.
There’s no final boss or ending screen—play continues until you’ve burned through all your lives, making each session a relentless chase for the highest score.
