Summary

Alex DeMeo's Race America, known in Europe as Corvette ZR-1 Challenge, lets you tear across a virtual United States at blistering speeds. The game’s map stretches from Boston all the way to Los Angeles, covering roughly 2,990 miles, and you feel the rush of hitting about 200 mph on the open road. In the North American release the cars are styled after Dodge Vipers, while the European version flaunts a Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 thanks to a licensing deal.

When you go solo, you’re up against eight AI opponents, each a fictional driver with their own quirks, and the challenge is to out‑pace them across the whole cross‑country route. The two‑player mode swaps the narrative for pure head‑to‑head competition, letting both players use the same model car in different colors. It’s a straightforward yet oddly satisfying blend of arcade speed and a surprisingly long, continuous track that keeps the tension high from coast to coast.
