Summary
Quattro Adventure (dubbed Super Adventure Quests in Europe) packs four distinct platform‑action challenges onto a single NES cartridge, an ambitious move that stood out in an era dominated by single‑title games. Each mini‑title offers its own blend of tight jumping, enemy patterns, and puzzle‑style obstacles, letting players swap between worlds without swapping carts. The concept was mirrored on the Commodore 64, extending its reach beyond the console crowd. By cramming variety into one package, the collection gave budget‑conscious gamers a taste of multiple experiences for the price of one game, making it a clever showcase of the 8‑bit hardware’s versatility. Those who grabbed the cartridge found themselves juggling differing mechanics and aesthetics, turning what could've been a simple side‑scroller into a surprisingly rich, multi‑genre experiment.
Storyline
Quattro Adventure is a NES cartridge that bundles four distinct platformers into one quirky collection.
In Boomerang Kid, the titular hero scours the Australian outback to retrieve his scattered boomerangs, battling snapping alligators, cute koalas, knights in armor and other odd foes while navigating secret switches and hidden caves.
Super Robin Hood sends Robin on a daring raid through Nottingham Castle, where he must dodge trolls, dwarf guards, vampire bats, fanged spiders and fire‑breathing gargoyles, solve key‑locked puzzles and reclaim stolen treasures to rescue Maid Marian.
Treasure Island Dizzy strands the cartoon egg‑shaped adventurer on a mysterious island; he explores treehouses, villages, gold mines and dragon lairs, uncovers secret maps and outwits magicians, wizards and pirates to find a way home.
Linus Spacehead follows an alien from the planet Linoleum who crash‑lands on Earth; he must gather the scattered parts of his radio amid bizarre aliens and frantic platform hazards to signal his home planet for rescue.
