Summary

Block Hole, known outside Japan as Quarth, blends the falling‑block puzzle feel of Tetris with the shoot‑‘em‑up rhythm of Space Invaders. A tiny ship sits at the bottom of the screen, firing blocks upward to coax the descending shapes into perfect squares or rectangles; once a shape is sealed, it vanishes and awards points proportional to its size. As you clear shapes, the drop rate climbs and occasional power‑ups appear, boosting the ship’s speed or granting other handy bonuses. The arcade, MSX2, and Famicom versions support two‑player action: a split‑screen duel with each pilot on a separate half, plus a cooperative mode where both share a single field. On the Game Boy, link‑cable play lets each player see only their own board, preserving the same frantic, geometry‑driven challenge.
