Summary

Penguin‑Kun Wars (often just called Penguin Wars) is a quirky arcade‑style action game that lets you pick from five animal characters – penguin, bear, panda, koala or beaver – and face off in a fast‑paced version of dodgeball. The arena is a square table split down the middle, each side starting with five balls; the goal is to shove all ten balls onto your opponent’s side or simply have fewer balls when the 60‑second timer dings. Hitting a ball knocks a character out for a moment, adding a hit‑and‑avoid twist, while each animal brings its own quirks – the rat darts around quickly but rolls balls sluggishly, the cow lumbers but snaps back to consciousness fast. About halfway through a round a jelly‑bean‑shaped obstacle slides across the middle, and later stages throw in moving barriers that can ricochet the balls, keeping the chaos fresh. The soundtrack is a catchy electronic take on Hidemi Ishikawa’s 1980s J‑Pop hit “Motto Sekkin Shimasho,” which oddly feels like a retro‑era version of Sheila E.’s “The Glamorous Life.”
