Summary

"Noah's Ark" is a side‑scrolling platform action game that drops you into a biblical rescue mission. As Noah I can run, jump, duck and fire forward pellets to defeat hostile creatures and free trapped animals. Each level is chosen from a selection of world zones, from ancient Rome to the Wild West, and I must clear a set of captive beasts before the rising water blocks my path.

Power‑ups appear as colorful ducks that swap my weapon, grant temporary invincibility or even freeze enemies, adding a frantic tactical layer as the floodwaters constantly climb. The levels are grouped into seven continents, each with three stages, so the game presents 21 distinct runs and a unique boss every third stage, while midway I confront a giant “drain‑plug” monster.

The European‑only NES release never shipped here, but its quirky mix of biblical lore, diverse settings and ever‑inching water makes it a hidden gem worth a retro‑gaming revival.

Storyline

Noah's Ark on the NES follows the familiar biblical tale where God commands Noah to gather two of every animal before the flood. In the game, hostile humans across various regions have already captured many species, blocking Noah’s mission. The player must guide Noah to each location, confront the captors, and free the trapped creatures. Once rescued, the animals are loaded onto the ark, bringing the world one step closer to safety.
