Summary

NES Open Tournament Golf lets you swing a club as Mario, Luigi, and other familiar faces in one of the first Mario‑themed golf titles. The game offers three distinct courses, each with its own quirks, and you can tackle them solo or with a friend in either stroke‑play or match‑play. You choose your battlefield—U.S., Japan, or the U.K.—and the mode instantly sets the stage for a friendly rivalry.

The visual flow shifts from a top‑down map, where you line up the shot and pick a club, to a 3‑D perspective that shows the ball soaring toward the green. This switch keeps the action feeling fresh while still feeling retro.

Controls revolve around a three‑tap power meter: tap to start the meter, tap again to lock in power, and a final tap to add slice or hook. Mastering that rhythm is the key to beating your opponent’s score.
