Summary

Mighty Bomb Jack is a quirky NES platformer where you guide Jack through sixteen pyramid‑like stages split into hectic action zones and static Royal Palace rooms lifted straight from the original Bomb Jack. Hidden treasure chests spray power‑ups: Mighty Coins change Jack’s colour—blue opens orange chests, orange lets you bust any chest by touching its side, and green turns foes into coins for five seconds. Mighty Drinks add ten seconds to the timer, and a Sphinx in a chest reveals secret passages.

The game punishes over‑collecting; snag more than nine Mighty Coins or let the clock hit 99 seconds and you’re dumped into a Torture Room where you must survive a jump‑counter before losing a life. Exiting clears your coins, resets the timer to sixty, and you restart the current level.

A 1986 VS series added two‑player co‑op for Japan, and the NES edition later surfed to Virtual Console releases on Wii, 3DS and Wii U, with an Australian PAL‑A exclusive launch.

Storyline

In Mighty Bomb Jack, the hero Jack navigates a massive pyramid composed of sixteen distinct levels. His mission is to confront the demon Belzebut, who threatens the kingdom, and to free the captured royal Pamera family.
Each stage is filled with enemies and puzzles that require Jack to use his bomb‑throwing abilities to clear paths and defeat foes. The game’s structure forces the player to progress deeper into the pyramid, culminating in a final showdown with Belzebut. Success restores peace and reunites the Pamera family with their throne.
