Summary

Menace Beach is one of those quirky NES titles that slipped past Nintendo’s licensing radar, later popping up on the Maxivision 15‑in‑1 multicart. The game drops you into the shoes of a skate‑boarding hero on a rescue mission: his girlfriend Bunny has been snatched by the hulking Demon Dan, and a shackled portrait on the intro screen makes the stakes feel oddly personal.
What sets the gameplay apart is the oddball arsenal you can pick up while cruising the board – balloons, frogs, bombs, even bottles – all used to blast through waves of ninja, clowns and disgruntled dock workers. Each level feels like a frantic skate‑park showdown that ramps up until you finally face Demon Dan himself.
The most talked‑about quirk is the “clothing rot” sequence between stages; as you progress, Bunny’s outfit gradually disappears until she’s left in just a bra and panties, a detail that gave the game a notorious reputation among retro collectors.
