Play Magic Carpet 1001 Online

Summary

Magic Carpet 1001 feels like a hidden gem from the early ’90s, a rogue action title that never saw an official license stamp. Developed by the little‑known MegaSoft and pushed out by Gluk, it slipped onto European shelves in 1991, bypassing the usual Nintendo approvals. The game’s quirky premise—riding a flying carpet through scrolling levels while blasting enemies—captures the experimental spirit of that era’s unregulated releases. Its graphics are a nostalgic blend of bright sprites and clunky scrolling, and the soundtrack loops a catchy chiptune that sticks in your head. Even though it never made it to the mainstream, Magic Carpet 1001 remains a curious footnote for collectors hunting the oddball corners of NES history.
